Unwait

Short version: Unwait has no accounts, and your learning history never leaves your Mac. This page explains exactly what is stored where.

What stays on your Mac

Everything you actually do in the app is stored in a local database at ~/Library/Application Support/com.unwait.app. That includes:

None of this is uploaded. We cannot see it, and there is no sync service. If you delete the app and that folder, it is gone.

What Unwait never reads

Unwait does not read your source code, your prompts, or your conversations with Claude Code or Codex. The hook we install tells the app only that a session started or finished. Nothing about what you are building is sent anywhere.

What is sent to our server

New cards are generated by an AI model. Because the API key for that model lives on our server and not in the app, card requests pass through unwait.ai. Each request contains:

We use the device identifier to count trial days and to enforce the 3 Mac limit. We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or share it.

News articles

News cards are built from public RSS feeds. Your Mac fetches those feeds directly from the news outlets, so those outlets see a normal web request from your network. We do not proxy or log that traffic.

Payment

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. From a completed purchase we keep your email address, your license key, and Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers, so we can send you the key and check whether your subscription is active.

Email

We email you once when a license key is issued, and again if you ask for a billing portal link. We do not send marketing email.

Analytics

In the app: none. There is no analytics SDK, no tracking pixel, and no third party code inside Unwait. What you do with your cards is never measured or sent anywhere.

On this website: Google Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets cookies and sends your IP address, page path, and browser details to Google. It runs only on unwait.ai, never in the app.

You can opt out with any content blocker, with your browser's "Do Not Track" or global privacy control, or with Google's opt-out add-on. Blocking it does not affect the app or your download.

Our server also keeps ordinary request logs for a short time to operate the service.
